Default price of having a moonbeam widebody installed.

hi all,

been pricing out a couple of different options for my car. one of which is a carbonsignal moonbeam kit. the rest are a bit less "extreme"

at any rate, i have an idea of what prep/paint might be, but what i don't have an accurate gauge on his how much the cutting/welding of the rear fenders might cost.

anyone have a ballpark for what that type of work costs?

thanks!

I'm sure this might sound like a **** response, but it'd be best to talk to a bodyshop by you that can be trusted to do it thoroughly, qualitatively, and correctly. These projects require a large amount of work that can vary the cost significantly between different shops.

A poor representation of price based on the location, but where I am, general prices for applicable body modification, kit modification, prep, install, and paint can be around $5-8K.

Thanks for the reply. After posting I started thinking it was probably the best thing. I have a body guy I trust for "normal" stuff, but I don't know that he has ever done anything custom, and i would rather have someone with experience.

Your number lines up with what I have read on other forums.

We charge for installation around 1500$ another 500-800$ for paint. Main work is cutting rear fenders and sealing the area rest is all very close to DIY.

Thanks for the reply. I was under the same impression. That the work is primarily around painting the flares and getting the rear cut and welded.

Plus the cost of shipping the car to Dubai and back.

It'll spend close to 4x the amount of time in a crate being shipped there and back than being worked on and having parts painted and installed.

Default price of having a moonbeam widebody installed.

Not asking anyone to ship but indicating time required. Can send whole kit painted but still at times fade out paint work is needed.

Just as a follow up. Talked to a couple of shops and I got a range of anywhere from 3-5k. Which depends on the fit and finish of the product out of the box. I know CarbonSignal has a good reputation in terms of their quality so I am hopeful it would be on the lower end.

lucky you. my father-in-law is a semi-retired body shop owner. so he still has a small setup at his house. paint booth, etc, etc. he could probably do the paint for me on the cheap. he didnt seem like he wanted to take on the cutting/welding on the rear fenders. i am really super particular so i dont know that he wants to do any of it. i drove him insane on a previous project.
