Default Scraping front air dam - 2015 Sport versus 2015 Nismo

I'm trying to decide between getting a 2015 Sport Tech or a 2015 Nismo Tech.

I love the way that the Nismo looks, but I'm concerned that, since it's lower, I'll be scraping the front air dam a lot. Is that a valid concern, or does the stock Nismo still have enough ride height for that not to be an issue?

I don't plan on lowering either car, BTW.

As far as I know the front of the Nismo is higher than a Sports trim.

My 370 is lower than either version you mention and I rarely scrape. Driving a lowered car has a learning curve associated.

If this is your first car this low you will scrape regardless. I've scraped 3-5 times with the sport. Since then however I've taken the diagonal approach. Always take the diagonal approach

I have a 2009 sport and I did a 2015 Nismo conversion. It is about the same height as if you have the front air deflector on maybe a tad higher than with air deflector. The difference is scraping your bumper vs a piece of $100 plastic. I've accidentally pull to far forward on a parking tie and it just flexed the deflector if I did it on the Nismo bumped that would be scrape city.

Otherwise that's one thing I would have rubbed. I'm lowered on swifts too. If you are just going ride stock height you should be fineish

2014 tour/sport Z, recently dropped my car on swifts + spacers 20mm/25mm on Saturday.
no scraping, maybe once a while that plastic thing under the front bumper. slow and easy on bumps and entering / exiting driveways to parking lots.

The problem with scraping with nismo models, at least the old style, was not that it was lower to the ground, only 0.5" or so. But the front rather then curving up extends the lowest part of the car straight out. So a normal models front wheels would hit the incline a few inches earlier and not scrape even when lowered, a stock nismo would scrape. However they did change the front around now and it looks like it would be less of an issue.

Take driveways at a angle and back into parking spaces and you will be fine.

Correctly driving a lowered car is actually a learned, and not innate, skill.
