Wow. Getting this car to be lighter will not be too bad at all. When I pick up mine, I will probally also do an Odyssey. Let's see:
1. Wheels & Tires (CE28N's) = about 20 pounds less 2. Aftermarket Exhuast (probally Nismo) = let's say 10 pounds less when compared to the last Nismo exhaust. 3. Odyssey Batter = 20 pounds 4. No spare = 35 pounds EQUAL: 85 pound reduction. WOW.... DD - Will the PC680 work on a car that only get driven two to three times a week?? Last edited by Endgame; 01-20-2009 at 10:58 AM. |

Another really easy weight loss tip: drain all of your windshield washer fluid then add back just a little (in case you need it). Might be worth a good 8 lbs of weight savings or so...not really sure. OR, just remove that huge washer fluid reservoir altogether!
I calculated my weight savings at around 80 lbs...and that includes new battery, no spare (keeping the subwoofer though), lighter tires, HF cats, lighter exhaust....but I am going to add an oil cooler (probably +8 lbs). Realistically, I'll also be running about 1/2 tank of gas...so I HOPE my total weight will be down around 3230 (I have touring with sport pckg). Last edited by drisko; 03-16-2009 at 03:18 AM. |

Stock Battery = 35 lbs.
![]() So we are talking about a 71 lb. weight loss by just removing the spare, sub, and tools along with replacing the battery with an Odyssey PC680! Thats nuts. Thats the cheapest pound per dollar savings you can get!

Just a heads up for you guys.
Braille is simply a rebadged Deka battery, I've purchased both for my evo and both performed equally well. Again Deka sells the exact same battery as Braille at around half the cost. Its just a matter of finding the model number (which completely escapes me at the moment). Just putting a word out to save you guys a few bucks. ![]() |

Love the info in this thread. Now we have a cost effective choice on batteries Oddesy and Deka. Great info guys.. Reps for both of ya.
RCZ no prob. On a side note when I first saw Voltphreaks I dont remember the prices being that high..The ones I saw initially way back were in the $400-700 range if my memory serves. Voltphreaks are great from what I heard if you have the disposable funds to justify that kind of coin for a battery. I love the Braile/Deka poundage per dollar ratio much better lol....
