There is a product that could be considered for weight reduction...It has not been specifically made for the 370z, but Stillen made one for the 350z. It's an aluminum radiator...These radiators are lighter and more efficient than the OEM. It's currently on the Stillen site, so check it out and tell me what u guys think...

I was wondering why no one here talks about radiators too much. It was a nice mod in the Subaru community.

I don't think they are lighter than OEM. The OEM 350Z radiator is super thin with plastic end tanks. Incredibly light. Crap, but incredibly light crap. There's also the added amount of coolant which weighs a lb. or two probably.

Actually, if you're going to remove the a/c (race car or extreme TT car), an aftermarket radiator makes sense... OEM, the radiator and a/c condensor are basically fused together... ie no way to remove the condensor even if you pull the rest of the a/c system... so it is dead weight

Brazilbro 02-10-2010 07:02 PM

I was thinking if you remove the a/c and stick in a radiator that is half the length but thicker you could stick a single turbo up front.:yum:

Thanks Mike and the rest of you guys,

I thought it would lighten it up a bit cause' that's the main reason I thought of buying it. Better cooling, less weight, better quality and I thought it would be the best, but I since it does not save weight, I'll stick with my oil cooler...

I was wondering if anybody had any more ideas to reduce unsprung weight in the wheel area. I've got my 18" volk ce28n, rays engineering wheel nuts (save about 750g altogether....yeah big savings), and will be getting my AP Racing big brake kit. The wheels and brake kit help the most, but is there anything else that I could do.

lol, yeah, I'm not sure how much weight I can lose without surgery...I only weight 140lbs, I'm pretty lightweight

theDreamer 03-21-2010 10:55 AM

There is not much more you can do in that area, maybe a coilover setup might be lighter but not 100% sure.

RCZ, some updates to your list if you want:
I am looking for aftermarket suspension and other parts but no one lists the weights on their website, will contact a few vendors and ask for weights.

~Berk exhaust:
-Muffler: 32.2lbs
-X-pipe: 12.2lbs
-Resonators: 8.8lbs each (17.6lbs total)
-Bolts & Gaskets: 1.2lbs
Total: 63.2lbs

~Fast Intentions exhaust:
-Whole exhaust with SS mufflers: 47lbs
-Whole exhaust with Carbon fiber mufflers: 41lbs

~Fast Intentions Long Tube headers:
-Whole piece: 21lbs (Per thread a recorded weight loss of 17lbs total)
