*NEW* Fringe XVO "Afterburner" Exhaust Tips

Not enough for people that recess them to look more stealthy. If you extend them fully out along the adjustment slot, then it is more noticeable.

Understood. I will not lengthen them. Final renderings will be up by Monday, I hope.

I will prepare the drawings and send them off for quoting. Once I get the quotes back, I can let you know how much they will be for a set.

If you guys like them and you can get 4 or 5 pre-sales together, then we'll move on them.

Thanks again to ALL of you the have contributed.

You are very correct - I completely forgot I moved my tips out somewhat further than the stock tip position. Nevermind what I said!

Sign me up for the first set!

So these will only work with the HKS system? I may end up purchasing these and attaching them onto a custom axle back instead of buying an HKS system. hmm..

Hey Fringe,

I think you might get more traffic if you crosspost this into the Exhaust/Intake thread. Maybe once you get your final design pictures?

Price is expected to be around $100 each, so ballpark $200 for a set. That may include coating, def won't include shipping.

Finishes are whatever you want it to be. You can see some examples of different colors on the fringexvo website and on our facebook page.

I should have some final renderings and at least one short video of the install up later today.

Looks good! I like the hyper silver finish. Is there an way to eliminate the rivets and maybe weld the inner sleeve to the outer sleeve? Or maybe the rivets would not be necessary seeing as how the slip on end would be bolted onto the HKS exhaust... that would make the inner sleeve removeable. Maybe allow for different colour inserts even... just a thought.

I agree, it looks sexy!

I saw on the website that custom colors can be done for the R35 tips - I wonder what kind of color combination would go well. To be honest, I would be so happy with these hyper silver tips with a black inside.

The rivets are necessary. The outer section could be welded to the inner, but that forces everything to be plain stainless. The only way we can make these tips available in two tone color is to use a two piece design that allows for each colored section to be powdercoated separately, then fixed together using a method that will not destroy the coating...hence the rivets. Due to the electro-magnetic properties of the powdercoating process, simply powdering a finished tip limits us to a certain few powders like all flat black, which tends to hide the detail and precision that goes into each of the tips. Not a single customer has ended up getting them in all flat black for that very reason. Most powders will not go through the small gap between each fin because of the magnetism.

The silver outer and black inner is the "Sentinel Steel" variant. If you haven't seen the "Phantom Black" sets for the r35 then you are missing out, cause they are subtle yet sexy, and one of my personal favorites. "Phantom Black" is flat black outer with a high gloss black inner.

As far as other combinations go, well, the world is your oyster. I'm still waiting for someone to do something flashy, like color match the calipers with the inner section. Eventually the inner part of the inner section will be carbon black from the exhaust, leaving only the tubing visible through the fin gaps to show the accent color that matches the calipers. I think that could look totally bad ***. Most people just tend to ask me what they should get though. I give people choices, and they just give it back to me, lol.

I will be sending these off to get quoted in the next couple of days and then I will have hard price numbers. Give me a week or two.

I'd love to see some high res photographs of the finished, powercoated tips in both Sentinel Steel and the Phantom Black. I'm trying to decide a color for my Pearl White Z! Such a hard decision, haha. Maybe even a crazy color combo, such like a white outer with a black inner section. Mmm.

Looking forward to the hard pricing. Maybe a discount for the first few peeps?

Like wheee said, thanks so much for coming through and making the tips. I'm glad I could help you out with the measurements, I can't wait to have a truly unique-looking rear end!

Thank you for your patience gentlemen (and women?). I have poured over the designs, literally quadruple checking each calculation. I apologize for the time involved, but I have to make sure things are perfect the first time.

I have sent off the designs for component quoting and should have the hard pricing in a couple forms by Friday.

In the meantime, here's a little more eye candy. (Note: I've decided to change the mounting hardware from the button type socket head cap screw that is shown to a short fine-thread stud with the appropriate nut and lock washer.)

wheee! likes this.
