I have the weighted shift knob, yes it does help, there are allot of them on the market here in USA and they r cheap just make sure it isn't titanium.

If u want one that looks like stock am afraid ur sol, but the weightened usually looks like a mushroom.

Is the JDM password type II shift knob considered a weighted one?
