Twin air ducts

Just have a basic question about twin air ducts. Do they really help increase hp? I have stillen gen 3 intakes installed.

As far as I'm aware, if the cut outs are at the bottom corners of the bumper, they are brake ducts. If it is the cut outs above where the license plate should be, it will give more airflow and cooler air into your CAI. Not sure if it does anything noticeably dramatic. But you will indeed have cool air come in and possibly cool your engine a little more since you have to cut the styrophone. Probably have a good gap in there

They should also duct cooler air to the OEM boxes too -- the OEM boxes pull air from ductwork that leads into the bumper, it's NOT open to the underhood heat.

Buuuutttt.... I'm not sure I'd want to drive through a heavy rainstorm or go through a carwash with those...

What would be nice is if they came with little airtight covers so you could have them open on nice days and seal them up when it rains. Don't think there's anything like that, tho'.

OP, unless you are Russia, I'm guessing FL. Imagine a wall of rain (the whole week, the Tampa area has had nonstop torrential rain...) and you have two openings to your intakes... that could be a bad day if it draws in water.

Would these be of any benefit to a FI car? They look slick but if they're not functional, I don't think I'd be interested in carving my bumper up any further

Sure -- so long as the duct leads to the intake, so it depends where the intakes are routed (and whether or not you actually pull in cooler air).

Cooler air going in means less heat for the IC to remove.

Default Twin air ducts

So hypothetically speaking (of course), where could I get these ducts and what would I need hardware-wise to make them functional?

been running this varis duct for 6 months, went through some heavy summer rain storm and still holding up fine without any problems. oh but bad thing is that your engine bay gets DIRTY like a whore in 14th street under the bridge.

Hey man, if possible, would you mind taking a pic that shows where the air is actually ducted to?

This may require an "in the duct" shot rather than "under the hood", but if you can get a reasonably clear picture that would be much appreciated

Y'know now that I look at the first picture closer, it looks an awful lot like someone took my RC ducts and slapped them onto the top of the bumper instead of connecting them to the rotors.

Thinking those Varis ducts may be the way to go. Just wish they were a little more cosmetic.

Edit: Also echoing what someone said earlier, I'd love to see the hardware behind the ducts. If they are just bumper holes I'm not going to be super stoked.

For reference, here's what they are supposed to look like:
