Default Differential bushing problem and warranty issue

Hello all,

After searching, I found out that I have problem with differential bushing but I just wanted to confirm and need help about warranty issue.

I read a thread saying someone was able to replace differential bushing under warranty while car has after market coilover installed. Just want to make sure that the dealer will replace it under warranty for the car has after market coilover PLUS catback exhaust. If you have any experience about warranty issue with differential bushing, please let me know~!

Here are some picture. It looks like differential bushing right?

My car is 2011 with about 35k miles. Is differential bushing covers under powertrain coverage?

Thank you in advance

Yeah bushing. Dealer should replace it under warranty. It's a known issue on the Z's, I had mine replaced with aftermarket parts.

Hey~ Thanks for quick reply. What aftermarket parts did you have at that time and which dealer did you go? Just want to know since you are pretty close to me.

Sorry, but it is not covered by the power-train warranty. I had this same issue and the Nissan part number is the whole subframe section for ~$900, and not just the bushing, so it falls into the chassis, not the power-train, for warranty purposes.

Just get the whiteline poly bushings for $98 and install them yourself.

Just the cat-back exhaust. I went to Carson Nissan, I dont think the coilovers should be a problem though but they do remove the subframe to replace the bushing and have to ship it overnight.

I just got the whiteline poly bushing done at specialty z. Don't take it to the dealer, they will just replace it with another crap bushing. If you don't want to do it yourself, they charge 450 parts and labor to do it.

Also it looks like you have toe-bolts. Since that requires cutting the subframe, they can use that to invalidate any warranty you might have had for the bushing.

Thank you for all replies.

So if I want go to with whiteline, I don't have to remove subframe...

I will try dealer for now and replace it for warranty.
It will go bad again but it's free to replace anyway.

If I can't replace it with warranty for any reason, I will go with whiteline.

Good plan.

You don't have to remove the subframe, you'll just get RAILED on labor unless you do it yourself, which is a REALLY SHITTY task without the right tools...

If they replace it, maybe see if you can get your old subframe back to take the bushing out?

Ah I see.

Hm.. what is the point of taking old subframe? To reuse the bushing in old subframe?
Or take the bushing out and preinstall Whileline for later? than I have to change subframe tho.

Do yourself a favor and save a ton of hassle, take it to seb at specialty z and have it replaced with the whiteline and forget about it. 100$ for the bushings, 350$ in labor and your set! Oh, and they do the job without removing the subframe ;-)

You were right!

Just went to dealer and it doesn't not cover under powertrain warranty and my basic warranty expired on 08/22/2014...

I was gonna call Nissan corp and open up a ticket to claim that it should be cover under warranty for grace period but not worth it to spend me time to go through the process for crappy OEM bushing.

I have one more question. Bushing is just piece of rubber and how cracked rubber leaks something? What exactly it's leaking?
