2010 Z won't start even after steering column recall

I already did take it to the dealer and they did the steering column recall and this happened again... I took it to a second dealer and it wasn't happening

I already did take it to the dealer and they did the steering column recall and this happened again...

I took it to a second dealer and it wasn't happening when they had it and they couldn't reproduce...they used their scanners and couldn't find any issues or codes...

P.S. The recall was performed not even 2 weeks ago by the first dealer and the issue started happening again...

if it's the same issue as your first diagnosis, you probably got another faulty lock, or your dealer never changed it out. it can be an intermittent problem on some locks.

you'll need to do the brown wire cut or fuse pull when you get a new working lock. check the diy section.

note: RevD is wat they use on the recall. this revision does not really guarantee that the problem is fixed. it's basically the same damn lock with a minor wtf they did. there are already a few RevD reported failures. it's a german designed american made part, it's hit or miss.

Isn't the steering column issue the fact that the car won't start/crank at all?

Because in my case, the car does try to start but just doesn't turn over.

I filed a complaint with BBB, this is beyond frustrating

How did that work out? Did it solve the problem? Or are you still having the same problem as in the video?

It did start the second time, and I can also give it gas if I feel like it will stall and it will start up

You are correct, sir. If the ESCL (SLU) is not working then the car will not try to start.

Then what could be my issue, both dealers and Nissan corp keep repeating the same damn freaking script "If we cant duplicate it then we cant fix anything" even though I showed them the freaking video

I'm pretty sure it's not the brake switch. That's not going to affect the ignition at idle after starting.
Take the FSM and a VOM and start tracing signals/power to the ignition/coils and fuel pump. Or get an OBD scanner and see if the car will tell you what's going on.

The dealers scanned for codes multiple times and nothing...

I wonder if its just cleaning the TB or filters that would fix this

With a good scanner, you can look at more than DTCs. You may be able to see some parameter go out of bounds before the car dies.

Both jobs are very easy and cheap. Worth a try.

You could have an intermittent sensor connection somewhere.

Could it be the camshaft sensor? I'm taking it to a 3rd dealer tomorrow...

The 3rd dealer said the idle was a bit low so they reset the idle to original? Around 700-800rpm...still having the same damn problem...

Any ideas anyone?

Might just get rid of it and get a beemer, I've been to the dealers 8 different times in 3 months wtf!!

Isnt there a lemon law where if the problem cant be fixed after 3 attempts or something like that the car is deemed a lemon and the dealer buys it back?

Update: Got sick of dealing with dealers, 3 different dealers couldn't find the problem and Nissan corp didn't want to help either

Got me a 2014 335i, the stress level is at an all time low now haha
