Question on install silicone radiator hoses?

Well, I hate to admitted it , BUT, while heating the end of the upper hose for the third time, the side of the hose came in contact with the steel pan, and burned a hole thru the side. So.... Ruined the top hose. I used the bottom hose on the top, ( it does fit over the engine nipple ). Cut the length to fit. Seems to be okay. Not "form fitted", but no kinks and looks okay . I am a little concerned about heat issues and break down, since it is not "the form fitted hose", so I'd like some input on that.

id shoot the Z1 guys a call/email or PM. its unacceptable for silicone radiator hoses to not fit perfectly. they are so simple to mold and form, no one should get them wrong!!
