Does it take A WHILE for your oil temps to rise? Because the Nismo one doesn't have a thermostatic plate
Yep, I understand that its a 34 row, I was saying compared to a 19 or 25. I literally had to remove my front just to get to the top of it.

For engine temps, it really doesn't take long to start to heat...just doesn't get very high? I actually had no idea it had an oil cooler until a week after I bought it and it was like 95 degrees out and after going on a cruise, I still had zero engine temp issues, weren't even getting high. Had stopped and hopped into a local members 40th which his engine temps were nearly 70 degrees higher.

I've begun looking into the termostatic plate since I live in MN. I ususally store the car by October, but there are days that it gets down below 50 degrees before then. How much of a concern will this be for me, and what are things that can result?

Thanks again for all this input. I hadn't looked into oil coolers all that much until last fall when my G37 went into limp mode on the track and I kind of freaked out. Very VERY happy about this information.

Well my friend, you have a problem... You just don't know it.
Your oil temps are WAYYYYYYYYY too low!!!

What are you at when you drive around? And does the needle leave 140/how long does it take to just pick up off it

also what josh meant is that the press cars were blowing up rear ends so they start putting another cooler on the back for the differential if you get under the back of the car and there is a little pump and oil cooler attached to your rear pumpkin you need to buy a lotto ticket because THAT is an expensive cooler only some press cars got.

140? No no, even highway speeds, it sits right between 175 and 190. The HIGHEST I've ever gotten it was right around 200, and that was really pushing it with it being 90 degrees out, and crazy humidity up here.

Well then, your friend with the 40th needs an oil cooler. You should only break 200-220 when driving hard, if he's at 245-260 constantly, his car is pulling timing

I don't think it was constantly, it was just when we had stopped after pushing our cars WIDE OPEN consistently for about 10 mins of twisties and straight aways....but yes, he does need an oil cooler Evvvvveryone should have one for these cars

Pretty sweet to get surprised with an oil cooler on your car.
