Oh, you're saying it's limited for na cars, not limited to only being useful for na cars right now. So if you can tune vvel you could maybe get more power out of a stillen sc kit with headers versus stock cats since stillen was saying that was the reason why their kit makes more power with stock cats.

Btw, after the dyno runs my dash showed a DTC (red lamp for open bonnet) and clearing the DTCs with UpRev didn't help. My his EcuTek cable (which he only got for the GTR as of now) DID clear the DTC :) I.e, another +1 for EcuTek |

Too small, bottle neck; too big, everything slows down. Getting it just right is the hard part on designing these sorts of things. Same goes for the IC piping and core, BTW... |
Stillen said it was due to overlap or timing or so ething related to vvel. I don't think the issue is that the blower came move enough air.

For you dynojet people, I'm curious of the wheels and tires.
|
my first dyno i was running stock gear 3.36 with 20 inch vossen with 245/35/20 hankook
second dyno 4.08 gear 20 inch vossen with 255/35/20 BFG G-Sport pro comp 2 |

my tuner said that the dynojet is simulate driving on the street so its load based. 320whp-268tq 3.36 gears 301whp-249tq 4.08 gears red was 4.08 4th gear yellow was 3.36 4th gear green was 4.08 5th gear http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...11/image_1.jpg |
interesting, so my number might be higher if i were running stock gears
|
it absolutely would be..as you see I saw a loss of 19whp and TQ with the gear change..
as my tuner said don't get stuck on numbers its just for tuning and such.. I wouldn't switch back to the stock gear for anything I love the 4.08 im going to try and hit the track within the next few months and get some trap times |
^ Agreed, I've been told the same thing in regards to my 4.08 FD since 5th gear is now under 1:1. The engine still makes the same power, but it will read lower than it actually is. Makes me want to slap a factory FD in the car just to see what it makes now...I'm making 345whp now on the 4.08's.

Wow those are some great numbers on the 4.08 gears

The 5th transmission gear is still 1:1, no matter what you do with the final drive. The reason you lose power with the 4.08 on the dyno is because the final drive ratio is now further away from 1:1 (independent of the transmission). The further you go from 1:1, the greater the losses through the gearing in the final drive itself. So 5th gear is still 1:1, its just that you have increased losses in the differential. Also, I believe that the quicker rate of acceleration on the dyno will cause power reading to go down. But that one I am still on the fence about. |
I'm not switching back unless I go TT, just good to know since my numbers seemed a bit low for my mods.

My latest retune (after switching from Motordyne M370, Injen CAI to Z1 upper/lower intake manifold and AAM intakes)
Top line is the before, middle is the final product, bottom is the new mods minus the tune. http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...psaoae4zqn.jpg |
