well hell Reece Cox from MTI in Atlanta ran a 1:28 two weekends ago at the NASA finals with his naturally aspirated corvette so it is no doubt possible.

^^^ THIS.

any chance of getting the same sizes but in a 19''?

RoadWarrior 12-17-2009 04:23 AM

Did you guys happen to weigh either the hatch window on its own or the rear side windows?

and Sharif (in his GTR) was within .1 seconds of Reese at Little Talladega a couple months ago.

Not going to happen. We are begging for the rear 12 inch width right now. The engineers are a little concerned.

Sounds about right AWD plays a huge factor. This is about drivetrain and aspiration. What i'm trying to say is that it takes an enormous effort to get the same response out of an N/A motor that you would in a twin turbo motor. For Reese to run that fast in a naturally aspirated V8 rear wheel drive is crazy and unofficial times of 1:26 were clocked on that sunday so i believe with a good driver that has balls the size of coconuts and a well built 370z, 1:35 is most definitely possible.

about the structure of a 12'' wide wheel?

Alll wheel designed are run through computer simulations and such, and this wheel needs to be made from a specific forging. So basically it's just not as easy as adding another 1.5 inch width to an existing wheel. Once it's settled, the wheel will be structurally 100%. I am glad that Rays/Volk does some serious engineering over there. :)

We are helping Aero Motions with the development of the 370 wing, those pics were of the final mock up. The fit and wing positioning are spot on. We should have the final product installed this week, and I would imagine they will be taking orders immediately.

The AC delete is pretty easy. Once you snatch the compressor off replace the stock belt with a Gates K060500. This is a 6 rib belt rather than the stock 7, however it should be fine as it will have no compressor load. Lace the belt through the; power steering, alternator, tensioner and crank pulley normally. Then only use the upper most grooved pulley to complete the loop. We removed the AC side smooth idler and the center ribbed idler as they have no use in this configuration.

LiquidZ 01-11-2010 07:01 AM

That thing looks like a monster. Can't wait to see it in motion.

Sharif@Forged 01-11-2010 05:34 PM

Looking good, Sharif!

travisjb 01-21-2010 05:21 PM

diggin that wing!

nice job selectively re-using the OEM bits... looks very clean and light weight... not sure why you need the center console, but I'm sure there's a plan

thanks Travis. We decided to campaign the car in Modified RWD class which means the oem dash and complete center console must be retained per the rules. I get a kick out of the cup holder. :)

I was going to start another thread with a full track review. But to say the least, our 370Z race car program smashed our expectations for it's first track event, even with a fairly important adjustment that still needs to be made to the front shock travel. We ran a 1:19 lap at Roebling Road on the 3rd lap out in the morning. That car is absolutely insane in the corners, and the braking power is off the charts. I had an idiot's grin on my face for hours after I climbed out of the car. We had the fastest car at this Porsche club event, and there were plenty of heavy hitters. Many GT3's on slicks, 997TT's, etc..etc.

And still with a bone stock engine and intake. Just the test pipes and exhaust...not even a tune!! It's only get to get much faster from here. :happydance:
