My engine compartment stays pretty clean - very little road dirt/dust. I wouldn't be afraid to run without the cap for a few days while looking for the lost one

My engine compartment stays pretty clean - very little road dirt/dust. I wouldn't be afraid to run without the cap for a few days while looking for the lost one or obtaining a replacement. See any of the oil change DIYs to see how to remove the cover on the bottom of the engine compartment.
