Nissan 370Z Forum

13 Months later, it happened AGAIN!

that can't be pure bad luck... i wonder if there is something wrong with the clutch? like if the pressure plate was made incorrectly and is too hard to push

Plastic slave with crappy seal design, Been this way since 07, Slave design has never changed. It's just luck of the draw whether one last or not.
Have personally seen 5 OEM Slaves blow in a 5,000 mile span, Granted this was with an aftermarket clutch and it is always seal failure, if the seal happens to last, the release bearing that is held on with a plastic sleeve will eventually break off the end of the slave causing complete failure.

Nissan, or the shop that built the car, blew a brand new (or 2) slaves out during the Enthusiast 370Z build when bleeding the clutch and ended up with our kit so they could get the car to ZDays for the show.

We have more than a few cars with over 20,000 miles now on our HD slave kit even with heavy ACT, OS giken ect clutches and basically ZERO failures.
