Hi Everyone, sorry it took so long to respond back. The sputtering then turned into limp mode. At any mph I would try to give it gas, and the car had no power. I took it into the Nissan dealership that I use for my maintenance and they kept my car for over two weeks cause they couldn't get it to act up till the 14th day. They had it hooked up to the computer but it wouldn't throw a code. It was the weirdest thing they had seen. The mechanic took my car home and noticed when he parked my car the brake lights started turning on and off rapidly, and that's when he determined it was a faulty brake switch. They replaced it and I haven't had any problems since!

That is bizarre! I wonder how the brake switch was causing that? Glad to hear its resolved.

Brake switch cuts throttle input on this car. Someone else had that happen to him at Z-days last year or the year before, very difficult to diagnose unless you are looking for it. Glad they figured it out eventually though.

Shouldn't make the car sputter, would just feel like someone disconnected the throttle pedal momentarily.

I had that issue for awhile and added a shimmy to the brake switch.

Just got over on this thread from another thread that Digi has been posting on.

Both Z's going in on Monday for brake switch replacement (not the one that activates the brake light but the other one that sends signals to the computer).

Will see as two cars are going to be tested.

After hearing that the brake switch was faulty, this whole thing makes perfect sense.

After Toyota began having issues with the "sudden acceleration" in the Prius, Nissan began plugging a feature that has been built into their cars since 2005 - the brake override.

To avoid similar Toyota-like issues, in the event the brake and throttle are simultaneously activated, the brake gets precedence and cancels out any throttle input. A faulty electrical signal from the brakes will cause the sensation OP was getting - a stuttering of the throttle in rapid succession. Considering no human short of Slayer's drummer would be able to replicate this with their feet, you wouldn't initially feel that this could be the cause of such.

Glad you got it resolved. Yet another possibility to add to the troubleshooting flow of stutter upon acceleration.

The tech at my dealer is familiar with this issue as they have replaced the brake switch on at least 1 Altima.

Blame the people who drive with both feet! It irritates me to no end to be driving behind anyone driving like that.

I wonder if this is happening to me, I don't have any codes but car has no power. Car is at dealer and they are going to replace Mafs to see if that's the issue.

I may need to tell them about this.

If the engine is running fine with no weird misfiring, you should get this switch replaced. I dealt with it almost a year after I got my car. It's scary when trying to make a left turn and the car barely wants to move even with the foot planted to the ground.

I have already had to replace my faulty brake switch twice... Now I am finding out this is a common thing with the 370z. Def change the brake switch if your car has no power when you have gas paddle all the way down.

Yeah my **** has no codes. I can turn vdc off and gas while turning from a stop, it will just go without even tire spin or loosing control. I did unofficial run from 0-40 and it took about 6 seconds.

Damn, supposedly they said the checked my brake switch and also changed Mafs, they said car is still same. And basically told me they don't know what to do, so I can come pick the car up.
