09 370z engine sputtering while accelerating

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

I have a stock 09 370z auto with 45k miles. In the last couple weeks I have been noticing while I accelerate from 40 to 50mph my car begins to sputter for about 5secs, no engine light comes on. If I try to give it more gas, the problem continues, till it catches itself. The problem usually happends within the first 20min that I start my car. I use premium gas and have had all my oils changes maintained through the Nissan dealership that I purchased my car from. Wondering if anyone has had this issue????

:ugh2:

Which gear are you in? Auto or manual?

Notice a VDC slip light flash briefly on the center of the dash? While the tires warm up it is pretty easy to break traction at 40mph if you floor it.

It's a automatic. Not bracking traction, def feels like something in the motor or trans

I would suggest to have a trusted dealer diagnose it and see what's causing it.

I'm interested in the results. Please keep us posted.

Curious, have the plugs been changed?

I think I had this same sorta thing happen, where my engine would seem to hesitate from time to time. I bought a $5 can of MAF sensor cleaner from Autozone and cleaned three parts: Two Mass Air sensors - the ones in the intake tubes, and the MAP sensor - Behind the intake manifold near the fire-wall. The problems almost dispersed.

I was thinking of doing plugs also, but will probably wait until I get my exhaust, and change the plugs right before I get a tune. I have 52k miles

Sounds like a misfire, maybe a bad coil. I'd take it to the dealer who regularly services your car. You could have a pending engine code, which wouldn't trigger the engine light.

sorry im late to the party but it seems that if the 09's are just a little low on oil,(1/2 qt in my case with the puralator oil filter) it will do this sputtering.keep it topped off and problem solved.i initially thought it was the maf's and map sensor but nope, low oil was the culprit on my 09 with 61k on the clock.

Just a quick note, on stock 370's these iridium plugs last for 110,000 miles. And if you do replace them, don't buy it from the dealer!! They charge 20-23 per plug, and as high as $29. Buy them from Z1

Also unless specified, nearly every Nissan dealer will put cheap dino oil instead of synthetic or ester based. Don't buy that from them either, they charged like $18 per quart for Ester. Again, buy from Z1 lol

How would being a half quart low directly cause any type of sputtering? Sounds like a fuel/ignition issue to me.

370ZGirl, can you give us an update on this?
