The g37 engine is sitting in my garage, whats the point if it is the exact same engine as the 370 as long as it hooks up to the rear wheel drive train in the 370 thats why I need some info on this swap before we begin..... it only makes sense to use a "free" spare engine! unless it will not work. Thanks for your help

If I had that much money I'd just go buy an old skyline and hide it from the Feds.

lol

I thought I was going to read about someone making a 370Zx. Why not just sell the G37x and then rebuild your Z? GTM sells built blocks if you don't have the means to make it happen on your own. Something just doesn't sound right here......

The answer to the OP is yes. The engine is the same and should be compatible with 370z's rwd drive train.
op your question was answered here.

not 100% sure if year from year need different things like the 350z's did (cam sensors) so you might want to make sure it is from the same year.

The 350z had different cam sensors due to a change in the engine. The 2005+ 6mt engine was changed to the revup type. Back in the VQ35DEs, the 6mt and autos had different engines.

As far as I know, there hasnt been any change to the VQ37VHR motor. The autos and manuals have used the same engine since it was released in 2008.

The RWD and AWD engines are NOT identical.
The entire upper and lower oil pan assembly is completely different for starters.

Whats the point of having a G37x with no engine? While it is technically possible to do the better and cheaper and much less time consuming and problematic option is to sell the G37. And if its sitting in a garage just doing nothing then its only losing money with or without an engine.

Then get what ever engine you want that was made to fit the 370.

Did he say he has the G37? I thought he said he has the engine. Having the engine doesn't mean you have the car.
