Yeah, it is a slow shift. You'll have to try it out to get a feel for it, but the goal is not to force the shift if the transmission isn't ready for it. This is really important when the transmission is cold. After it warms up it should shift relatively smoothly so you won't need to take as much time as when it's cold.
