Noob HP ?

Seeing some of the dyno #s posted just got curious, what's the true HP we get out of a brand new Z? Is it near the 332 they claim?

Dynos are going to read differently, but yes, you should be making roughly what is advertised. Some cars might make a few hp more, some might make less, but they are all in the same ballpark. Manufacturing tolerances are very tight.

It depends on the dyno. Some read low, some read high, and they all can be juiced to read whatever the operator wants them to.

As an example, mine dynoed at 258whp stock on a Dyno Dynamics. On the typical Dynojet, it probably would have been around 275whp.

Dynos are more useful for tuning and measuring gains with mods assuming you stick to the same machine.

As others have stated, it all depends on the dyno. Dyno numbers should used only as a reference point on your specific car using the same dyno when comparing your stock numbers and with bolt-on's. RWHP will always be less than at the crank because of drivetrain loss. This is typical for all cars. The 332hp is the hp rating for the engine only, basically without the powertrain.
