It's probably not absolutely necessary yet, but I would go ahead and change the oil.

Random guy on the internet says the break-in process deposits tiny metal bits into your oil more than normal driving after the 1200 miles is done. Lots of people change their oil around 1500 to clean out all these bits. I'm pretty sure a Blackstone UOA will confirm this kind of thinking.

FWIW, I don't think I got to change mine until closer to 3K miles. 53K miles later and no worries

I change my car oil every 12 months or 3,000 miles, whichever one happens first.

I drive it like I stole it, but pamper it like I owe on it

Daily driver Z here. I've had it three weeks and have put 3000 miles on it.

All oils start deteriorating as soon as you start using them. When the engine is running the oil gets polluted with acids, water, and other junk. Unless you have temperature-controlled storage, the engine will "breathe" and more moisture will collect. All that crap sits there and eats away at your oil and engine. After 2200 miles, the oil is probably still doing an adequate job of lubricating, even after 11 months, but it needs to be flushed to get rid of the garbage.

And I agree with the others that the first oil change should be done very early (1500-2500 miles). As pointed out, there will be a lot of junk floating around from break-in.

I use mine as a daily driver year around. 37k miles on it. Change the oil every 3,750 miles or three months whiich ever comes first. I don't believe in garage ornaments. Have some fun, drive it!

Every 4k miles or so. If I am lazy, perhaps 5K miles.

6 to 7k for me. I pay for synth, I'm going to get the benefits from it.

If you don't want to DIY, take it to a dealer so they will have an official record of your maintenance on the remote chance your engine ever has any issues and need to make a warranty claim.
