Oh snap i know what im doin tomorrow!!!:happydance: hopefully its as good as you guys claim because my clutch has no feel lol

I was playing with it the other day and found out that part of the weird clutch feel isn't just that the spring assist makes it feel more vague but that the spring assembly actually over centers so that when you push down you are fighting the spring until it passes center then it starts assisting you thats why the car feels like there are 2 engagement points some times because as you push the clutch down all of a sudden it gets easier to push.

Just removed the spring and the bottom pin and wow it feels like a normal clutch. I don't like the floppy feel of the clutch though but I already have the softer spring to replace it :)

One side of the pin has a lip just put a flathead to the lip and hammer it out and once it's out enough just keep pulling on it

I didn't push the clutch in I just hammered it the most I could and then pushed the clutch in and wiggled the pin out

G'z. You guys are going to butcher and destroy the bracket/clevis that way!

You're supposed to unload the spring by depressing the pedal. The pin slide right out with minimal effort.

Maybe needs a slight percussive adjustment.

after removing the pins i pushed the clutch pedal to the floor with my hand and the spring popped right out... clutch feels a million times better!!!

Mine was a PITA to remove too. I had someone depressing the clutch for me while I grabbed the pin and fought w/ it for about 45 mins but it came out eventually

Maybe a good idea to pull the pin once a year and apply some white lithium grease?

I used a baseball bat to seat to hold clutch down. My pin wouldn't slide right either though, I had to hold it with a locking wrench and wiggle/pull out.

I think enough people have given this a thumbs up but what's one more. After picking up a Z a couple days ago, introduction on the forum and further details forthcoming, I thought at first the clutch was just stiff and the car was just new to me so was just rusty and I'd get used to it. Well after 12+hrs of continuos driving it still felt numb and the engagement point mysterious. I thought I had lost my mojo despite driving a stick off and on for the last 18yrs. Decided to look it up and found this thread. Immediately removed the spring (was super easy) and went for a drive.

Night and day difference. The feel is there now. Easing on the throttle is much easier and predictable. Incline starts are also very much improved.

Considering ease of mod to measuable benefit, I'm not sure it gets better than this.

Thanks everyone. Looking forward to being part of the community here. Seems like a great group and theres not much that hasn't been covered.

I bought one for my 2011 Z but never installed it. My 2014 doesn't need it. I'd sell mine, PM me if interested and can't find it elsewhere.

It's a Century Spring P/N 72577
