Alright, so I took the stock spring out but then a small spring came out too?
Do I need to put the small spring back? If yes then where does it go?
Everything came out kinda quick that I didn't have time to see how the small spring was setup.

I put everything together withouth the 2 springs. Took a 10 mile ride and everything works.

Please advise. Thank you

This feels sooooooo much better than with the spring. WOW! I don't really know why Nissan puts this crappy spring in there. This is how a clutch should feel for sure! I already order the new weaker spring and will arrive on Tuesday.

Looking at the mechanic of these springs. It would probably be a bit harder to press down and stronger on the return. Is that how it feel after the springs removal?

To be honest with you, it feels "softer" both ways and it does not assist on the return as much as with the spring.

The new weaker spring is being delivered to me today. I will report back in a couple of days.

Installed the "softer" spring. Feels much better over stock. Great feel! Feels like a normal clutch now. Hopefully they (Nissan) learns about this and apply it to the next Z.

I took off the spring all together to see how it felt. Im not getting that "wow" factor like a lot of people on here are. I still feel like that pedal is stiff with no feel. I guess its slightly better but not as much as I had hoped for. 1st gear on this car is still frustrating to me. ive been driving manual since 16 yrs old and this is the only car I have ever driven where I get nervous if on a hill stopped, and worried ill stall, buck the car, or get it into gear at a higher RPM than desired.

I haven't owned any cars that are automatic (only rental cars when I do work trips) and 1st and 2nd gear in this car is a bitch.

I think the real issue with the clutch is that it engages high without any modulation. It is hard to slip the clutch for a smooth engagement like other cars.

If you analyze the mechanics of that spring, the oem one actually make it lighter both way because the spring compresses when you release the pedal and decompresses when press down. So if you remove or change to a lighter spring, all it does is make it harder both ways. It does nothing to resolve the issue of engage point and lack of modulation.

However, I am sure that we can master it by paying more attention to where the engagement point is and release the clutch accordingly. I found shifting at 2500 rpm from 1st to 2nd generates less jerkiness.

Just purchased the replacement spring from eBay, thanks for the help finding the spring guys!
