Just finished installing my spring that I got from Jsolo. Install was a breeze, took about 5 minutes. Using a ziptie to hold the clutch pedal out of the way is key. Had a little trouble getting the pin back in but used some adjustable pliers to help "squeeze" the pin back in.

Pedal feel is noticeably different. I wouldn't say it's a "night and day" type of difference, but there definately seems to be more "feel" during clutch engagement now. Another thing I notice is that if I lightly touch the clutch pedal (car is parked) there is a bit more play that with the stock spring. This does not affect anything really, the new softer spring still does its job on returning the clutch pedal all the way to the top.

I thought about doing this, and then realized that you get what you pay for, so opted for the RJM adjustable clutch pedal, i'll rep back when installed, but reading the forums it is clear that it is the real solution.

Sorry bro but in this instance Get what you pay for did NOT apply. A simple $40 spring solved the ills of this clutch peddle.

Less is more. The adjustable pedal is just meant to extend the window of the engagement window given by the master cylinder by changing the angle of operation of the clutch pedal. It's mostly meant for people with extremely grabby clutches that still need to be streeted, i.e. clutches that are like an on-off switch. <500 torques need not apply. People with unsprung six puck drag clutches, maybe and probably. Someone with a 800 rwhp Z and using some insane multiplate clutch or a super grabby, unsprung disc with a super high clamp force plate would definitely need something like this, unless they just get a really really nice clutch with a different master cylinder.

Have either of you actually driven a 350Z or 370Z with the RJM Pedal Mod installed???? Because I couldn't disagree with you guys more.

I had done the simple spring mod and adjusted the clutch rod as soon as I got my 370Z back in May. It made it feel better but certainly not a night&day difference and you still have to work for those smooth shifts. My former daily driver was an 07HR 350Z that I owned since new so I know how to drive these cars well and what they feel like when modded with the previously available DIY's

I installed the RJM pedal assembly last weekend and all I can say is it's the best $$$ I've ever spent on a mod. After having driven with it for a week I'd of happily paid double what it cost me as RJM is selling these stupid cheap for the amount of engineering that went into the design, complex fabrication and the quality of the product. The difference in clutch feel is phenomenal. My 2010Z is still running the factory clutch. Stock clutches and less then 500HP definitely DO apply. The RJM kits have a huge following over on my350z and I've never seen a review thread with so many ridiculously positive comments from well respected members. Also looking over there probably about half of those reviews are from guys fed up with their stock or other mild clutches (JWT etc)

This is a case where you simply don’t what you’ve been missing until you’ve driven one.

I think the guys are just saying its not needed until you have 500+hp. Plus $200 vs $20? It's only 10% of the cost so IMO ppl are gonna say go with the cheaper until you need the upgrade.

The rjm pedal is not something that is needed, just like any other aftermarket parts. The 370z is perfectly fine from factory, nothing aftermarket is needed. We add aftermarket parts to enhance and improve stock parts. The spring and pedal are completely different. Comparing them is like comparing apples to oranges. The rjm pedal will improve clutch function, doesn't matter if it's stock or aftermarket clutches. There is no reason to attribute horsepower levels to the need for this pedal. If you want to shift easier and have total control of the clutch, you should get the pedal.

I purchased the RJM Performance Clutch Pedal Assembly and installed it over the weekend. I'm very impressed with this Clutch Pedal Assembly, I must say that my 370Z feels like a different car; It actually changes the whole car experience.

I have driven manual cars my whole life, however, when I first purchased my 370Z and drove it around for a day, It felt like I never drove a manual before. 1st and 2nd gear was very jumpy and difficult, now, with the Clutch Pedal Assembly, it's smooth as ice. I barely have to give it any gas when starting from a dead stop and I'm able to switch gears way smoother. I just can't believe the difference it makes. Also, being able to adjust the clutch pedal to your liking makes it even that much better. I highly recommend this MOD.

LMBmikeZ, you thought wrong. Ask yourself these questions, then think about your response to my posting.

Why are members swapping the factory clutch spring for an after market spring?

What is the real issue at hand?

This is what I've learned from this thread … "there are a lot of Z owners' that are not happy with the factory clutch feel; including myself." Hence wanting to change the helper spring. What some members may not know, is that there are other solutions that can solve their clutch issues.

As a member of this forum, I feel it's my duty to help educate and inform my fellow members' so they can make informed decisions. Therefore I feel this was the perfect thread to post in.

I purchased a spring from you and all was good. However, in my opinion, the weaker spring is a short-term fix at best. I wanted to install a long-term/permanent solution and that's why I opted for the RJM Performance Clutch Assembly. Read the reviews.

Just so you know, It wasn't my intent to steer members away from buying the after market spring from you. I was just trying to HELP solve the real issue at hand.

I'll say this ... members that are on a tight budget, opt for the helper spring. If you have the money and want to completely change the driving experience of your Z, spend the $255. You won't be disappointed, I promise.

I agree. From what I've read, I wouldn't attempt the Sprint Booster as well.
