160 miles on 2011 Nismo 370z. Needs new transmission :(

i'm pretty sure if the car is THAT new and there is a problem that big you should be able to just return it and cancel the deal.

In Oklahoma you have 72 hours - then it's a done deal.

It's ok!

When cars are shipped to keep them from wearing on the springs/shocks while waiting to be brought. Rubber spring spacers that keep the spring expanded are install. So if you purchase a Nismo these spacers aren't known to ever dealer seeing it's just a Z. They are forgotten in the car. So if you see a stock Nismo looking a little 4x4 that's maybe why.

Op you could of checked that yourself.

If the car shifts into each gear fine but a grinding noise is heard.

It may be the fluid, I don't think that's the problem

Or

Your driving isn't yet adapted to the Z's clutch, an it's shift points.

I recommend following the "find other stealership" advice quickly!

From what I understand, spacers are used because shocks get pretty hot when you transport a car. Especially on a boat. Multiple GTO's also suffered sagging and rear-tire wear issues because they were improperly shipped from down under to the US.

A transmission dying in 160 miles is:

Improper fluid level.
Idiot owner.
Flawed part.
Assembly error.

I don't think you are an idiot, so that leaves the other three. It is not indicative of the quality of a vehicle or company in isolation. Replace and enjoy.

actually the springs are only on the nismo and it is to raise the car up in front so the lip will clear the transport ramps. and they make the car ride stiff in the front. gys have gone a whole year before having them removed before

So this is only on the Nismo model? I remember the S2000 had this issue big time with dumb dealers.

If you take it to another dealer then you run the risk of the original dealer pointing the finger at the second dealer. IMHO, when dealing with a major acquisition, I like to have a "one a$$ to kick". Resolving through the original dealer forces them to be that one a$$ kick.

Be firm: ask them when they will resolve the problem \ what they will do if they do not resolve it by the deadline and then hold them to it.

Squeaky wheel get the grease.

Well since the thread is already back from the dead, what caused your tranny to fail?
