Hello all,

First time to the club and first time z owner. Just bought new 370 2 weeks ago everything works great. Reading all these posts about the CSC failure is stressing the crap out me. Is this happening to ALL the newest Z or is it just a few? I asked my dealer and he said he has seen some in for replacement but no too bad. Now I'm freakin not enjoying my car because every time I step on the clutch I waiting for failure. WTF. is the zSpeed HD CSC A SURE fix? I figured I'd drive it until the stock one fails twice then bail and pay for the aftermarket HD or even the elimination kit...I love this car...but now I don't want to drive it..ugggghhh

Enjoy your car, i got hit by the servo steering lock problem then the csc. It sucks but wouldnt lose sleep over what may or may not happen in the future. As far as Z1 goes, id say it seems like the right fix. When I called local Nissan getting an estimate he told me, its 170 for the stock part, but its the same part that broke before and would break again. What he would do if it was his car is buy the z1 and have nissan install it...
When your service managers are advertising for z1 and not there own part, that speaks volumes. I told him thanks for his honesty, again (he gave me a low down on wife's pathfinder timing chain issue )

Edit, just say you said you would have it break 2x before upping to HD. If its under warranty replace it with z1 and have nissan eat the labor. You may be out 360 now but second time it fails and outta warranty its gonna be a grand

Yeah I think that's good advice. Especially about enjoying the car! Was looking at the warranty info and looks like the 3 yr 36k is the most I can use. I was hoping the power train warranty covered it but it is excluded. I bought the 100k extended warranty and that excludes it as well. Think I will buy the zSpeed HD now and have it on hand so when this one craps out I will have dealer use it Insted as you suggest. And start saving a grand for after the warranty.

out of two brand new Nismo Techs a 2015 and now a 2016, neither CSC lasted beyond 4,000 miles. As long as it's under warranty, Nissan can keep replacing them. I'll consider a Z1 after...

Found this TSB from Nissan, and it's posted on the NHTSA site. Searched for 2012 370Z "Manufacturer Communications." it's BS.

My 2014 is in the shop for what appears to be this issue. Looking forward to getting the word back from the shop to make it official.

**edit its official**

2014 touring with 25.5k on it.

Although they called it the throwout bearing and the CSC is attached to that and is being replaced as well.

Alright fellas. It is now my turn. My clutch went all the way down to the floor. I was able to slightly **** into gear but the clutch slightly moves up. When I stopped my car to start up again. It seems to be okay. Then the clutch begins to stick to the floor again.

I'm in the Los Angeles area. Anyone recommend a shop where I can get it fixed or upgraded? I don't want to deal with this again. Also should I upgrade flywheel or anything else? I definitely drive my car hard. :-)

Here go get this
.SZ Clutch & Flywheel Kits for Z33 (07-08), Z34 & V36
This includes the clutch, flywheel, and upgraded CSC w/ SS lines. Parts and labor is around $2200

The 370 Z is a **** Car! Mine blew out the CSC last year. I replaced the CSC with a "so called" Heavy Duty Version. I even replaced the Master Clit h assembly, added heat shield lines.... 7 months later it F*cks up again! Z are **** !

I did not drive my Z hard. Just a short trip to beach (150 miles), 55-65mph. I am not pleased that a CMC, HD-CSC fail so easy! I was using GTR Fluid & insulated lines ... Poor design on manual shift Z's. I will repair than sell Z asap!

My CSC and MSC failed at 41000 and same run around about not covered. Where exactly does it say these parts are not covered?

For me the money isn't the issue, my issue is that I bought the car used and made sure I still had warranty only to find out they never intended to honor the warranty. The powertrain warranty covers the transmission. The exclusion list doesn't name the MSC or the CSC or hell even the clutch or brakes.

Finally their reasoning is "my driving" but I all my driving is long road trips and stop and go traffic. Given this reason they said that maybe it was the previous owner in which case it still is not covered (aka maybe we sold you a broke car whoops). I'm still completely confused about how any driving level can damage a hydraulic system but that's besides the point. No where in the warranty are those parts excluded and their reasoning is overly convenient and general BS.

TLDR I'm calling a lawyer tomorrow that specializes in suing manufactures over warranties and sales contracts so we'll see how that works out.
