The Baseline Dyno Comparison chart & Calculator

a 37.7 whp gain is impressive! i wonder what the cobb will give us in addition to these gains as a stage 2 tune...

Anyone know the correct method for 'back-calculating' your whp to figure out what you're getting at the crank?

my car made 254.2 fly wheel is rated at 332

that is 23.5% drivetrain loss!!!

take that into account on Ben's car and you get 381.3 fly wheel hp!!!!!!!!!

that is freaking nuts!

*Note* I hope my math is right

if we take jyhighsky's numbers my car would have made rwhp (275 hp), fly wheel (332)
Ben's car would have made fly wheel (381.3), rwhp (315.86 hp)!

this is at 17.16% drivetrain loss

Uggg, dont be obsessed with numbers! Your numbers look just fine for a dyno that puts a load on the car, and its more ACCURATE than a dynojet. Now, if Dyno Dynamics dyno's dont put a load on the car, then its probably not nearly as good of numbers lol.

Just found this. They also got 256 whp (same as RCZ's baseline), but it's a 7AT! Not sure what kind of dyno that is.

Edit: Found some more info. That's the Superflow AutoDyn 30 chassis dyno at Technosquare.

No. Well, it's not the same brand. I don't know if it's similar in its numbers though. Interestingly, they got the same baseline as bullitt did. But the car in this video is 7AT, and bullitt's is 6MT.

FYI - Doug Stewart (of crawford) used the figure of 17% for drivetrain loss(6MT), at least when using his local dynojet in nashville. I think that 17% is pretty close.

This was for the VQ35DE models. I can't imagine the efficiency of the drivetrain changing that much over the past couple of years, so I'd stick with the 17% figure for now.
