All these automatic guys secretly want their cars to be manuals. Just admit it already. No one that owns a manual has to defend it, it's the only way to go when you own a sports car. Automatics are just lame.

Damn, no wonder my riced out automatic cavalier was so fast back when I was 16... You can have your automatic all day for the 10th of a second it might make your car faster. I just traded in my BMW 335 coupe with the paddles. Hated it, just not the same experience. All of my sports cars have been manuals. Not to mention reliability of BMWs SUCK!

I had the exact same BMW experience....hated that SMG paddle shifting piece of crap. I don't know what I was thinking. So glad to be back to a real manual transmission. BMWs might be the ultimate driving machine, but not very often because they are always in the shop. I don't think 6 months went by without some issue cropping up. Never realized how much I would miss that 3rd pedal.

I don't know why the 50/50 weight distribution things is so heavily marketed. 50/50 is NOT ideal. Don't know who gave em that idea. Oh yeah, and their **** breaks all the time. Not what I would consider a well engineered car.

The water pump went out on mine with 70k miles and left me stranded on my way home from Myrtle Beach. Also had two or three expensive oil leaks fixed, the power steering leaked, a tranny problem and an engine knocking noise that was supposed to be normal...

I find it funny that the car I traded in for the BMW was a 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 with close to 400whp. I did all the work and tuning to the car myself. Beat the hell out of it everyday and I never had on issue with it. Stock block, stock clutch, traded it with 83,000 miles and it was still running like a champ. Although I did forget to tell the dealer it ran on a mixture of the E85 and 93 octane...

Last I checked the viscous limited slip diff uses fluid as a coupler. You manual tranny guys seem to think your **** is one solid mechanical link to the rear wheels. You are wrong. I know I'm reaching here but the whole concept behind the mt vs at debate is that third pedal and not the clutch(es) involved. And if you really want to get technical, the 7AT has 32 clutches. So if the argument is over how power is transmitted, keep walking. And I'll repeat it again... Torque converter lock-up happens from 2nd through 7th. So on a base model with no VLSD and a 7AT (similar to what I had) you wind up with a highly desirable solid mechanical link to the rear wheel. Even though the sport gets power to both wheels, as long as you maintain traction there is no difference in whether one or two wheels get power.

Now, if it's about stroking that phallic symbol in the lower console and a third pedal, now we're making some sense because we are all ghey here anyway. Presto loves my ****.

Ugh. I hate these threads. When I get bored I always come crawling back. And all I wanted was applesauce. :/

My wife wanted the MT. I guess that makes her more of a man than any of you AT driving pansies. Good thing I don't mind the
