I love my three pedals, but you just can't compete with the precision of a flappy-paddle box (at lest with a DCT).

That said, AT also never misses a shift.
Now we found someone talking some sense!!

Where's the chauffeur option?

Automatics are awesome, don't get me wrong. However, owning an automatic is like that last interview with one of the Telsa employee's. "My self-driving cars may lead to human driver ban, says Tesla's Musk". Talk about fall asleep behind the wheel. At least with a Manual, I can stay awake.

I love when manual drivers think that the AT owners only put the car in "D" and drive. then go on with comment like above about "falling asleep"

my car is never in "D", I make every shift, I shift more than manual drivers most likely, and I know that gearbox inside and out.

if the argument is engagement with the car go talk to the old guys who own a Z with a AT. that's about the only group it applies to. the argument is null and void. time to find another excuse MT boys.

laugh? you're an idiot then.

AT cannot skip gears like a MT so when I downshift coming to stops I drop through each gear except never doing a 2-1 downshift. that isn't good for the AT.

so technically I do shift more than you and also when on the highway I have 1 more gear to go up into.

again a MT boy has failed.

not personal just making sure the MT queers know the facts since none of you really do.

just go off of what you think you know and sound dumb.

ever notice the informed MT drivers say they like both and how good the AT is but personal choice they still went MT?

I wasn't trying to be mean. I'm just old school manual. I went from automatics to manual and couldn't be happier. Everyone has their preference though

There is way to much traffic here this time of year so I use the D in the street. I also use it at the end of cool down laps but never when I'm on the track having fun.

You can't eat applesauce and drive a MT as easy as a AT!

F1 outlawed them from using AT, so they make them as close as the rules will let them.

It was still a manual transmission with a clutch but the automatic shifting was controlled by electronics and hydraulics. No torque converter as in a conventional automatic transmission.

F1 outlawed the automated shifting and required driver input.

Check out this article in Car and Driver about the 2015 370Z Nismo seven speed automatic transmission.
