Manual shifting an automatic transmission = fail.

Be a MAN and get an actual tranny that can be shifted.

I was just stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for an hour and it didn't bother me one bit with the 6MT.

Cabbage? That's really weird man. Nothing edible about these cars. ;)

What's the point of going if you can experience it?

Its a car. Enjoy it. If he lets people sit in it all the time then he also understands that it is a car. It is meant to be enjoyed by all. Not just looked at. It is pretty awesome that he does that.

I personally don't think anyone's opinion should factor what car you get, but do take their opinion into consideration. You'll get a lot of people bashing you for driving an automatic sports car though.

I've had an 08 350z 5AT and loved that thing. It was so easy to drive and that was part of the problem. It was definitely fun, but it just didn't feel right.

I now have a 12 370z Nismo 6MT and it makes up for the 4 years of driving an automatic. Manual in my opinion is so much better and makes the sports car that much more fun to drive.

You should also consider your area. Part of the reason I got an automatic was because of family reasons, and the second (and most common excuse) is traffic. Northern Virginia traffic is only getting worse but honestly, 2 hours of traffic isn't a sufficient enough reason to not enjoy endless hours of fun on backroads and an open highway!

D.Stillwell 11-05-2015 04:05 AM

^^ Traffic is a really poor excuse not to drive MT, if ond feels lazy and wants to lay back in comfort while driving....go drive a 4 door auto like 99% of the populace these days. Sports cars should be fun and made for driving, not lounging in comfort in an A to B people mover.

And I say that being stuck in VA/MD traffic on i495 daily with 6MT.

I leave my car running everywhere I go too, knowing nobody will take it since like 2 people still know how to drive standard.

Driving a stick isn't hard its just slower. I don't think I know anyone that can't drive one.

My 7AT just came back built to take 1000whp and shift even faster.

very nice!

my question is though if it's capable as is to handle 1000whp why did you need the FI flex plate? does the tranny build not include a new one?

i'm just curious in the case that I need a tranny or go boost obviously I would need a built tranny. already called level10 months ago talking numbers and whatnot before anyone got one done yet I never asked about the flex plate lol

No one ever said it was hard

In fact ... that is one of the main reasons to rip on someone who can't drive a stick :tiphat:

If you don't know anyone that can't drive stick, you apparently are not familiar with 93% of the US population. I call :bs:

True. I think this largely relates to age also. Anyone born past the 80's probably knows nothing of a manual tranny.

I think that 93% stat is confusing current MT drivers vs non-drivers who still know. Most people over 35-40yo these days have driven an MT at least once in their life but most people just dont drive MT these days.

Driving an MT is quite the novelty nowadays.

Level 10 doesn't make a Flex plate and they are known to brake them because they shift so hard. F.I. just got the first batch of these last week. I didn't want to have to slow the shifts down to protect the flex plate and this thing should be able to take all I can give it.
