^^^ On synthetic, if you're just daily driving, 6000 is what you'd expect on average.

3000K = Dealer revenue stream

Toyota for example recommends 5000 miles between changes using regular oil. The Dealers are still hanging onto the 3000 mile thing as a revenue stream and they are trying to convince you to also.
