Favorite Synthetic Oil

A friend swears by the Royal Purple, so I bought some last night. Only other synthetic that I've tried is Mobil 1. Any feedback on the RP?? or other brands?

I have always used Mobile 1 synthetic, and never had any issues. I hear Motul is good as well.

Your not thinking of changing the oil are you?

Pretty soon, I've got 1600 miles so far in the first 3 weeks :driving:
I want to switch to a Synthetic around 2000 or so.

Try too go to 3500, preferably 5000.

More people prefer RP, over Mobil! I need and look into Motul, I don't have enough feed back on that brand.

Motul smells sooo nice you could drink it - and the engine always seems to love it (I'm sure that's just my imagination) - but I tend to go for the cheapest, because I'm an old skinflint :tiphat:

Pure Power. Check into it :).

The RP is awesome, but it burns too quickly.

Gang,

I have used Mobil 1 in everything I own for the last several years. My 03 350 has 56K on it and has had Mobil 1 in it since 500 miles. Same for my Toyota X-Runner and Toyota Camry Hybrid. I used it in my 95 and 96 Impala SS's and several cars before them and have had no problems at all. BTW I changed them all at 500 or less miles.

Royal Purple or Mobil 1.

I plan on using Royal Purple.

RCZ, what do you mean, it get hots too fast or has a lower temp flash point or burn rate?? I want to go with an oil that will help the car run a little cooler. I was reading through a thread were a guy was tracking a 370z and the car went into limp mode because the oil temp was too high.

I'll probably ad an oil cooler down the line, but for now just want to help it out a bit with a good synthetic.

Only ones I have used are Mobil 1 since they are available everywhere here. I don't change oil brands. Whichever I use, I'll stick to it.

I think he has a good point. 350Z VQ wasn't too fond of Synthetic, right? I think it's better to wait a little longer like 5000 - 7000 maybe? Just a thought. I sure it'll be fine even if you decide not to wait.

i've always been a Castrol guy

I tend to buy Red Line when I find it on sale (not very often!) but RP and Mobil 1 are very good too. Usually I wind up with Mobil 1 because it's less expensive (can't call it cheap!).
