very loud clutch chatter when in first gear and i depress the clutch...

Dude! What car wouldn't stall if the clutch was out, in gear and the car was stopped? Not driver error, then maybe driver ignorance, I dunno.

Jake man dont worry, I have the same chatter if I slam the clutch just like Antennahead suggested earlier. But if you dissengage the clutch slowly and in control, you'll be fine. You have to ease it in like a gentleman. You cant just ram it home.
