Why does Nissan continue to use the same diff mount bushing that explodes on every single car after a few years? Mine blew on my G37 and now on my 370z with 26k miles on it. Ridiculous.
Is there any harm if I just leave it as is? |

Always thought Z's had a solid rubber bushing and the goo was only on the Infiniti chassis.
NVH vs performance, respectively. Have read some people simply fill the stock bushing with a two part silicone or some such epoxy. Fine for a daily that never gets driven hard, I suppose I opted to swap in a whiteline bushing and brace. But I see there are stiffer braces out on the market now. Also seen the use of a pathfinder diff, that has two bushings for support. But that necessitates adding a second hole/sleeve and bushing to the rear subframe. |

I replaced mine last year, at about 40K miles.
It was a pretty straightforward job, but it took a lot of patience and force to get that old bushing out. I used the removal tool from Z1 motorsports; it worked quite well. There are some good how-to videos on YouTube. It's critical to replace a blown bushing. My car was really hopping around after the original blew. Bad design. The new, solid bushing from White Line is a huge improvement. |
