Unhappy Oil Leak after installing z1 25 row oil cooler...

Hello guys,

I have a 15 370Z Sport 7AT.

I recently got a z1 oil cooler (25 rows, thermostatic, setrab, protective hoses) installed by a shop.

I am not sure why it leaks again.. second time.. installed it last saturday and found out the leak this monday, got it checked on tuesday and just checked the car today again, which is thursday, and it leaks again.

it seems like it's leaking from sandwich plate or the filter by looking at it without the bumper off the car...

anyone knows why it's leaking or had issues like this before? hope it's not the cooler itself is causing the problem.. since i'm going to a race track at the end of the month...

I took a bunch of videos and pictures of the first leak so if anyone wanna take a look, send me a message on ig @gcz_z34

thank you!

Question

Where is leaking at on the plate.? Between plate and block? Between plate and filter? The fittings?

@ Rusty it's on sandwich plate. looks like some slight leaks on the line connections to the core. I suggested using gasket tape on the AN fittings and making sure the sandwich plate is sealed/torqued properly. I had my plate back out slowly over time, but NEVER had a leak like what was shared.
Rusty, -ZS-Carpenter and Zingston like this.

Don't need tape on AN fittings to hoses. Did they use new O-ring on original oil cooler to crankcase? If it was disturbed, (which it would be because of sandwich plate install) it will leak.

You can use tape on the taper fittings going into cooler and sandwich plate, but leave first two-three threads clean!!
