Removing Battery For Storage?

Not a big deal unless you plan on racing as soon as you start it up. You'll lose radio presets on some year models. Might need to reset the auto-window function. ECM will lose some tuning data but it only takes about 15 minutes to relearn (car may run a little rough at first). Transmission may lose some data but I'm not sure.

Is it OK to just start the car once a month and let it get up to temp?

That'll work. Let it run for a few minutes after the engine warms up so that the exhaust pipes get hot enough to boil off the water.

IIRC, there is also a shipping "switch" in the fuse block that kills power to a lot of stuff to reduce battery drain. FSM will tell you how good my memory is and exactly where the switch is (if it actually exists). Link to FSM in my sig.
