Default Car shut off after driving hard

So, I think after doing some searching I know this is a common issue with our cars that I unfortunately overlooked. I made sure I covered all my bases by solving the CSC issues, braking issues and oil cooing issues. I just didn't know my year was affected with the fuel starvation problem. My car shut off this weekend and wouldn't start back up until I had to ask someone to get some gas in a Jerry can and bring it back to me to get my car going. Also by hard driving, I mean I was doing donuts and figure 8s for the first time in this car.

My question is, what's the band aid solution to this? I'm not getting a new fuel pump or fuel starvation kit because I'm done with Z's . I'm looking at a 2012 Audi R8 or a 2017 Chevy Camaro 2SS like what I originally planned before I got distracted by the Z again. I've never owned an American car or owned a car that had more than 8 cylinders.

Can I run with a full tank solution and just stop driving like a maniac until I sell the car? Or do I have to drive around with Jerry cans in my trunk now.

Just fill it up before doing the crazies. How low were you? Normal semi enthusiastic driving shouldn’t get you in trouble even on a low tank.

I was about 3/4 when I got to the entrance of the mountain, when the car shut off it said it had a range of 108 even though there wasn't any of the fuel dots showing when I tried to start it back up. After I got gas it was just over half

It shouldn't have shut off at 1/2 a tank. Sounds like your fuel pump top hat may be broken or broke during your maniac driving.

probably broken top hat.

If you're not willing to do anything about it your days of carving the mountains are pretty much over unless you like carrying gas around in your sports car.

I don't drive with a spare to save weight, guess I'll just put the gas cans where the spare used to be for now before I sell the car. I don't plan on doing anymore crazy driving so I assume just driving around regularly won't affect anything but carry gas as an insurance policy. Is there anything else wrong with these cars like a hidden thing like a nuclear reactor that's going to leak that I didn't know about?

I like my Z but the amount of faults it has right out of the factory, you'd think that it was designed by the Italians or the British, not by the Japanese. What's worse is that it has way more issues than my 350Z from 2003 ever did (which the 370Z is suppose to be a 350Z 2.0 but better in every way except the reliability).

Driving around with gas in your car is not an intelligent solution to your problem

I'm not doing any further upgrades or fixing anything else on my car. If you wanna buy it, let me know, it has just over 26k miles with all new upgrades of what you see in my signature and will not be parting the car out. But I'm done with Z's.

You seem to love it or you have a lot of time on your hands or both. Because you're like on every thread trolling everyone. Go outside, it's a beautiful world out there. Well maybe not in Sacramento. I'd be pretty butt hurt and mad all the time too. You're literally showing that you have no life because you're always on, always talk s*** like a teenager playing on xbox online. I figure you'd come crawling out from underneath your rock to comment.

You had fuel starve. Some guys will get it at 3/4 full tank on the track. The issue is hit or miss as to what years get it or not.

As for the SS. Big support for it. The forums for it are chit.

The R8. Nice car long as it has a warranty on it. Once the warranty is up. I hope you have deep pockets.

I don't really like the newer muscle car community members, partly because I don't really get along with anyone my age or younger. There's a lot of Bravado that you don't see with older gents. I've been watching the R8's V10's (V8's actually have a few problems even though it's a older engine). I've been watching them longer than the 350Z and 370Z believe it or not. I've always wanted to get one but I never made enough to afford one back then and even when I did, I just played it safe and settled for the Cayman then E92 then 350Z and now the 370Z. The Camaro I like a lot too. I don't like that you see them everywhere but they are so damn good to drive. It's just on my bucket list of cars, I've never owned American, neither owned a V10 or anything all wheel drive.

Every car made has it's quirks/problems. The stock Z is a sports car, not a race car. For the vast majority of 370Z DDers, fuel starvation is not a problem. If you drive hard, you can expect to have to make some upgrades on any car.
