Default Weird engine noise

Was driving about 50mph up a hill and heard a loud clink (like a bolt hitting metal). Engine started making an odd sound. I'm thinking a bolt came loose or fell off. Friend thinks the header came loose.

Sounds like a bad exhaust leak.

So that's what I was thinking at first. I know I didn't tighten the exhaust bolts to spec, but I thought they were pretty tight on there. I'm hoping a bolt just came off the exhaust and that's what is making the noise.

+1 Really sounds like you have an exhaust leak somewhere. You should have not installed your exhaust until you found out what the proper torque specs were for your exhaust. Have fun diagnosing a exhaust leak I ended up taking my whole exhaust apart before trying to diagnose an exhaust leak good luck.

Torque specs are in the FSM (link in sig).

A piece of hose will help locate the leak. Put one end of hose to your ear and move the free end around until the sound is the loudest. Be careful around moving parts.

I ended up figuring this out within a day or two of this post. Forgot to throw the update in here. I have Z1 Test Pipes, and on these pipes, there are 2 holes for an O2 sensor. Well the bolt for extra O2 sensor port, fell off. Replaced that bolt, and good to go.
