Idle in the garage does not move a lot of air so the air has plenty of time to heat up to the temp of your engine bay. For me it's normal for the air temp to get into the 90s or higher while sitting in traffic but as soon as I get to highway speeds to IAT gets to only a few degrees above ambient temps.
The engine was off..just had it in the 'on' position to get the reading. Something isn't right.
