Fuel Pump help

I'm going to be replacing my walbor 255 in-tank pump here soon and need help choosing a replacement pump that is similar. Anyone have any suggestions. I just have the

Default Fuel Pump help

I'm going to be replacing my walbor 255 in-tank pump here soon and need help choosing a replacement pump that is similar. Anyone have any suggestions. I just have the basic bolt ons: long tubes, intake, and exhaust so i don't need anything crazy just yet. I was looking at the aem e-85 pump, but i don't know if the 320 would be too much pump for now.

All i know is that people here use 340 and up pumps for turbo and supercharger applications i don't know if its a good idea to go to a bigger pump for N/A cars. Phunk is definitely the man to ask.

If you are staying NA, then I would just get another 255... did it fail or was there a reason you wanted to swap?

I've got a couple spare OEM pumps if you want one. With what you've got there's no real benefit to upgrading until your close to maxing out your duty cycle.

I'm staying NA. Full retard on the build later this year. The 255 i have in the rrp is failing. I just need something comparable.

Thanks. I have a back up oem pump. If i cant find anything worth while i just use that.

If you're already tuned on the 255 you may want to replace with another... most likely your idle pressure (unless you drilled the venturi and regulator) is higher than OEM... idle may suffer if you change back to OEM (this is only if you got a custom tune after putting in the 255).

If you did all the drilling, etc, then your idle pressure will be low if you go back to OEM.

I think the only case in which you would want to go back to OEM is if you never drilled anything for the 255 and never got a tune done after installing it.

The stock 370z pump is the perfect answer. I was not aware you had one laying around or I would have recommended that one. It will fit the pump holder in the RRP.

What will happen if you drilled the jet and then go back to a stock pump, the fuel pressure will not lower, but the venturi strength will be lowered. Because the drilling did not modify the regulator, it was just to allow the regulator to breath better for the higher volume of fuel it had to bypass with the larger pump.

I don't personally think it would be worth it, and that is coming from someone who improperly drilled it and had to go searching for a replacement.... =)

I think what would have saved me is having a diagram or something to look at so I better understood what I was trying to accomplish with the drilling. Also a table with common pumps and drill sizes to take out the guess work.(Please don't take any of that the wrong way, I am not placing any blame on anyone but myself particularly since my fueling equipment was supplied by another vendor)

All that being said, most people on here would see $50 as a drop in the bucket when doing a build and are more than willing to spend. I am one of the more frugal (CHEAPSKATE) members, it would appear.
