Unhappy Lacking power

So only had this car for about 2 months now, picked it up with no problems, great history, has 80k miles got it for 14k (neighbor's dad moved away.)
but all the details aside he's not an aggressive driver and the car was in near perfect condition!

I did notice though, when the car is cold or warming up the power on the throttle feels as it should, crisp!

when the car warms up, (exhaust sounds a bit quieter too, I have aam short tails)

oil temp is about 200 (normal I'm guessing)

the car feels sluggish. throttle response is a bit slower and car revs slower as well

Any idea what it could be?

I don't think I'm in limp mode, I'm not limited to a set rpm 3.5k or 5k
No codes, cel or anything

I'd take a look at the Intake Air Temperature (IAT). The ECM starts limiting power at a fairly low temp. IAT is measured at the MAFs and can be looked at using an ODB/CAN scanner.

Yeah, unfortunately it's normal. Sprint booster or a tune are the only options to solve it, or keep the revs higher. It's something to do with warm engine and emissions that Nissan messed with it. Look up "the370 throttle response" in google and you'll see a lot of people with the same issue.

i agree with this, did you modify the intake at all? my IAT stays 10 deg higher then ambient temp ( i monitor daily with SCAN gauge 2 ). Just removing my heat blocking intake boxes on my Stillen intakes raised the intake temp 20 deg. The Z has heat issues for sure.

FWIW; My car oil temp sits at 180 in till i start getting on it then it will raise in the 200, 220 if i stay on it. i do not have an oil cooler

Nope everything is stock except the short tails!
But thanks everyone! It feels a bit better knowing it's a manufacturers problem,
Definitely looking to get hfc, gen 3s
And ecuteck! And a oil cooler ofc,

Just wondering, are the camshaft or crankshaft sensors been a problem for this car? As it did with the 350z and g35?
I've had both cars in the past and oil gunk would shut off the car or limit power at times

The heat problems are from the cats being directly under the engine. I switched to ppe long tubes and my oil temps dropped to a consistent 200 when they were 225 prior. Added mishi oil cooler and its 180.

Had to look deeeeeep into the forums, but i found it!
I'm 70% sure I have the same symptoms that other people were having as well.

I have a serious engine problem

I'm not mechanic but I couldn't find a diy or anything, how could I fix my "brake switch"?

Older VQ's have the oil galley issue.

I have a serious engine problem <--- this is linked to post #50

Try this first, the user pushed the pins back into place to resolve

If imjello's suggestion about the pins doesn't work, see the FSM for switch adjustment procedures.

Same effect forsure. The heatshields and cats just soak up heat and it sits there. Its not a fix to oil temp issues but it helps a lot.

When you refer to the older VQs are you referring to the DE's? (G35/350z)
or the earlier models of the 370z? I have an 09
