The reason I am asking about weight is the notion that the mechanical lsd could be heavier than the factory VLSD. The weight added could be a secondary effect and not a decision maker in upgrading my diff. I just wanted to know how big that difference was. I have to keep the power planted after all.

If you want to balance the car out. You have to add weight to the rear. This is done with lots of race cars. Common practice.
