How much TQ is the stock 2015 6 speed go for?

I'm looking at the Jotech Motorsports Twin Turbo Stage 4 package and noticed no mention of transmission upgrades, only clutch. I believe this stage 4 package is rated around 600-700

370Z Packages | Jotech Motorsports

Wondering if the Quaife QBE62G (listed for 350Z) will work with a 370Z? I've had great success with Quaife sequential boxes past race cars (Lotus). https://shop.quaife.co.uk/gearboxes?...r=53&model=431

Also looking at a dry sump from Daily Engineering ... I think VQ37? But not sure where I might need addition ports?

VQ-37

Sorry for all the questions. Any information appreciated.

Cheers, Rob.

EDIT: Any hints on good locations for oil coolers, engine, trans, diff? I'm partial to Setrab coolers, but open to suggestions.

EDIT #2: Is it possible to get the 370Z below 2700 lbs?

That looks pretty out of date. Greddy doesn't make a kit for the Z at the moment, unless they released their new one very quietly. You're better off going to IPP for the motor and Fast intentions for the turbo kit. The transmission will hold together fine at that level, there are a lot of guys running 600+ on a factory 6 speed.

Wow, that is good news on the transmission ... are these primarily street cars or track/race cars?

Interesting ... so anyone know what Jotech Motorsports using in their "stage 4" package? I've seen other kits ... AAM? Also Vortex motorsports. Jotech list some good engine components and fuel system upgrade ... I would however want a dry sump on the motor (assuming it can fit with a TT setup).

Cheers, Rob.

Pretty sure you lose your AC with a dry sump if that's an issue for you

QBE69G required for decent VQ torque ....... the 62G is a transaxle box (diff and box in same housing and is used for Ford GT40 replica's and such).

You would have been thinking of the QBE60G which is based on Ford Type 9 casing, and was previously offered for 350Z and now Quaife recommend the QBE69G.

Depending on your objective and budget, you have lots of options.

That said, the OEM Z34 box is fairly stout and will take a lot of abuse, but eventually you will see 5th/6th syncro's wear with a lot of use.

My 09 model gearbox will now often baulk going 5th to 6th at hi-rpm and will need looking at eventually, but I have a Holinger 6-speed available to go in with new Grand-Am spec engine next year.

Getting under 2800lb is fairly simple but involves a completely stripped out car and dropping the creature comforts (HVAC etc).

A few guys down-under are approaching 1200kg (~2650lbs) and that is MAJOR surgery with lots of tin removed and a chrome-moly lightweight cage as well.

If you are serious, talk to Brian at Valkyrie Autosports or one of the other race/fab shops on this forum.

Thanks for all the information (especially on the Quaife ... they are difficult to work with and direct contact is rare - shipping/customs can be a pain, several months) ... probably want to keep it a "street/TT car" until Smog is due (CA) ... then full conversion to race car, truck, trailer, etc.

Cheers, Rob.

I wouldn't go with Jotech, drive to houston and do JTran.
If you have a GTR, JoTech is cool, just $$$

What is the overall goal for the car? Road race? Street? Standing mile?

The stock trans will hold some big power, but, if this is a race car there are some other solid options out there.

For engine/turbo kit, i shot you a PM. But I would go with Fast Intentions on the TT kit as it has been proven time and time again as the best option on the market.

We would love to work with you on this build if you have any questions!

I am partial Quaife for race duty, as I indicated early the Quaife box worked very well for me in the past and in my Lotus (320 wHP turbo @ 13 psi - 1750 lbs).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M07RqpdACTE

My Quaife out lasted 3 engines and was still going strong at 60 Hrs with NO rebuild. I'm hoping the quaife quality will be similar for my 370Z ... but again, race car is long term destination.

Cheers, Rob.

I prefer Holinger to Quaife for race-box as the Quaife experience in NZ V8 touring cars has not been stellar (the 69G boxes are behind 7-litre Chev engines though).

Holinger are based in my home town and an issue during a race weekend means spares and support are only a mobile phone call away - a bit different for Quaife.

The 60G in lesser powered cars has a very good reputation - as you have noted.
