Personally, I hate that hex nut on the top lol. Bad experience trying to get one off after the dealer installed it so tight they striped the nut I use

 I use this thing: Amazon.com: Assenmacher Specialty Tools TOY 640 Oil Filter Socket Wrench for Toyota/Lexus: Automotive. It has a nut on the back for wrench or socket (I can provide the size on request). It says Toyota/Lexus, but it also works for Honda/Acura and Nissan. It works wonders on those over-torqued filters put on by dumb$hit mechanics
