Different market, different country made, very early posts showed, some US bound cars oil filter Made in China,in S'pore only Japan Made...maybe now switched over to Germany....well,factory OEM,sometime depends on the tender, who give good price, factory will give who to make.....but all filter are up to factory's specs...

Hrmm... maybe I should just start purchasing Nissan filters. I've used a variety of filters through the years; mostly depending on the stock at whatever store I'm at when I need one.

I have found more independent/individual studies on filters than on oil. Fram are crap. Pure 1, Mobil 1, K&N, Nissan, Toyota are a few do the good ones. IMHO, your premium oil needs a premium filter.

I stopped using Nissan filters when they switched production to China, and more specifically, to cardboard end caps. Wix are all I use now, on all my cars.

As long as you stay away from cheap budget filters you should have little chance of any problem. I like K&N just for that hex nut on the top to make it easy to remove.

Personally, I hate that hex nut on the top lol. Bad experience trying to get one off after the dealer installed it so tight they striped the nut

I use this thing: Amazon.com: Assenmacher Specialty Tools TOY 640 Oil Filter Socket Wrench for Toyota/Lexus: Automotive. It has a nut on the back for wrench or socket (I can provide the size on request).

It says Toyota/Lexus, but it also works for Honda/Acura and Nissan. It works wonders on those over-torqued filters put on by dumb$hit mechanics

I use napa platinum, synthetic fiber, the larger one for the GTR. They cut it open at BITOG and said it was an amazing oil filter. right on par with Amosil EA...
