Jim Wolf Cam testing for the VQ37VHR -- Results inside!

I have no idea. I am waiting for people who know better than me to figure it out. Waiting for updates from people who do these mods.

I know that's asking a lot, but that's what it would take for this investment to be worthwhile to me at this point. Any knowledgeable people think that is reasonable or possible?

These are my hopes/expectations for gains

Stage 2 cams - 20whp, 35wtrq (seems like a lot, but they're saying the stage 1s gained 30 so...)
Ported upper/lower mani - 7whp
70mm TBs - 6 whp
Larger CAI piping - 4 whp
bump (top end) from losing the m370 - 5 whp
Trq from combination of piping, TBs, upper/lower manis - 10 wtrq

total - 42 whp, 45 wtrq
end result - 350+whp, 310 wtrq for under 6k

Is this a pipe dream?

These numbers do not seem like a pipe dream to me, but the variance from brand to brand for each part will have to be taken into account. As one brand may loose power, one may make power. Only testing will tell. Even more so with every car being a little bit different, and people being in different locations, different dynos, etc. The number on the dyno is not always the full story.

One big thing I see missing on your list is headers, its in my belief that to take full advantage of the upcoming C2s a set of long tubes will be a big step forward. Even more so if you are on the hunt for torque.

Uprev claims huge release soon but I doubt a tune/timing/fuel etc will net 10hp. Only cheap thing I could try is maybe bigger TB's and go back to larger intakes. Other than that I'd love a cam that should produce a result unlike keeping my fingers crossed on a tuning package.

I know we have spoken before about the issues you have had, I would honestly say the jump to ECUtek may be the best bet with all the problems you have had on UpRev. Start with that, and see where it takes you, although I think cams will help it sounds to me like other issues need to be sorted first.

What other mods do you have? Are you doing everything at once or adding cams to existing breather mods?

F.I. LTH, Stillen Gen 3, engine is from Rebello Racing (VQ37VHR, 11.5:1 compression, JE Pistons/K1 Rods). Also have 3.9 final drive gears with an OSG LSD. EcuTek tuned. Haven't decided on catback yet. It's being done all at once. Previously, I was doing 286 rwhp with EcuTek on 91 with an otherwise stock car. Will be interesting to see what it does!

OOOOO interesting. You getting tuned on 91 octane? will the dyno number be a little skewed because of the 3.9 gears ( this is for all the people who care about numbers).

What where your previous torque numbers? Because that's the real star of these cams.

that was more or less stock (not counting suspension etc.)? The new one is going to have LTHs, cams, and intake? Nothing else?

Tuned for 91, but it's aggressive. On the track, I run 101, and I have a six-pack of Race Gas additive for the rare cases where I can't get 101 (like Auto Club Speedway). Definitely want to make sure I don't have to buy a fourth (!) motor.

Yep, all stock except for suspension and oil cooler. The new one will have all that, and higher compression (11.5:1) and a new exhaust to mate up to the LTHs -- haven't decided which one yet, I'd like to get the F.I. one, but it takes too long to make.

Also, the 3.9 final drive will skew the new dyno numbers a bit.
