Yes. The shifter trim panel and shift knob will need to be removed. From there the two rubber shift boots and retaining plate will need to be removed as well.

Yes. The shifter trim panel and shift knob will need to be removed. From there the two rubber shift boots and retaining plate will need to be removed as well.

At that point you will need to disconnect the bolt securing the shifter to the shift arm. Some people can get their hands around it to do the install. But I cannot. I recommend jacking the car up and having it on a lift.

When you get to this point. The shifter should literally "Pop" out since there is a sping beneath the shifter that aids in the reverse gear selection.

Reassembly is the opposite of disassembly.
