Awesome DIY, did this tonight. Really sets off the silver Z's.
Also, to get a really nice gloss going, I added 2 clear coats 15min wait between. Damp sanded, wiped off lights with alcohol. Then applied 3x more clear coats with a damp sand after #4 coat. Gave a really nice gloss and will protect my tint. ![]() +1 rep Last edited by Mavrik; 03-03-2014 at 02:41 AM. |

It's paint, not plasti dip, so you wont be able to just peel off as you would with plasti dip, however, it can be removed with gasoline and a lot of scrubbing. There are you tube videos how to apply VHT and removing them.
Nice work btw Nick! |

The plasti-dip will peel off but after doing the VHT, I would never recommend doing plasti-dip on the lights straight from the can.
In order to put plasti-dip on the tails or headlights, it has to be thinned down and also its heavily advised to use CLEAR Plasti-dip with black tint, rather then black RDS DIP from the can.. But this DIY is for VHT NIGHTSHADES & like ZBrah mentioned it can be removed very easily.. GASOLINE is the NOT RECOMMENDED removal tool however. Yes it removes VHT, but there are many other chemicals that do the same thing and cause much less harm. For example, with the use of chemical gloves, Naptha, XYLENE, Goo Gone, and Even WD40 can remove plastidip and VHT and can all be found at your local Home Depot, Lowes, or Ace...
