sorry if this has been asked before but how long should you wait before removing the masking tape.
I did the rear valance thing today and while removing masking the dip came right off with the masking. Ending up taking it all off, it was a complete waste of time |

Doing door handles & emblems are much easier. You mask off a bigger area than what you're spraying. And just peel it off the paint. Then it tears or breaks at the gaps or seams around whatever you've sprayed. |

Anybody have pics of a yellow 370 with the handles/wheels?

Big job, that can get f'd up easy. Especially if you get new tires. |
Yeah I've painted a lot of wheels and only dipped one set and it came out good but they were white so they got dirty quick and if you don't keep them clean, say goodbye to the white.

Nu Finish (Dr Scratch) also made it simple to remove the extra black dots on the area sprayed on. Sometimes the wind makes it go in other directions. You won't really see them until you're washing your car and drying it.

Anybody have any idea how to disassemble the door handle? I attempted but gave up.

I basically drilled out the 2 rivets on each handle, had a friend at a machine shop drill and tap the ends so I could assemble them again. It way easier to paint them and get a good base and clear coat under the handle. I also have pictures of how to spring goes back on. Kinda tricky but possible! http://www.the370z.com/members/hocke...way-easier.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/hocke...d-screws-1.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/hocke...handle-sun.jpg Also, for people who take the handles off and don't want to drop the screw: take some masking take and roll it into a cylinder sticky side out. Even though i had a magnetic tip screwdriver, it was a nice piece of mine to have the barrier! http://www.the370z.com/members/hocke...nto-door-1.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/hocke...nto-door-2.jpg |
