Default DIY: How To Blackout/Plasti-dip Handles

Hey guys-

Been seeing a ton of questions about plasti-dip for those who are blacking out parts of their car. Here is a video I uploaded to show you how to properly dip a 370z handle!

I have done my handles about 3-4 times since I purchased the car almost 2 years ago. I think for $6, you can't beat it.

Also, remember that you can use any color plastidip for your handles.

Red car, red plastidip, red handles.

White car, white dip, white handles..

You know what I like most about this video Nick? You show how everything just comes right off with no problems in case you don't like it or did something wrong the first time around and how easy the cleanup is. +1 man! Great DYI!

Thanks Vicster!

I think dipped handles are great and hope it helps those who need them done. Fun weekend modification!

Hey Nick, seriously considering doing this soon. For the driver's side door, do you have any special way to deal with the keyhole?

Also, I imagine that this same method should work rather well for the badges, right?

The keyhole is not even a problem. The first time you put your key in, the dip comes off the keyhole & you can peel it off.

As for the badges, you'll do the same thing as I did in the video. Tape off all around, spray, take a toothpick or your finger to get the inside of the emblems.

So far I have dipped:
Fangs
Rear Valance
Side Mirrors
Emblems
Side Blinkers/Emblems
Mud Skirts
Tail Lights
Rear Spoiler
Handles
Headlights
Wheels

Have fun with it!

That would be a pain in the butt. Not only that, but you'd have to get 3M tape or some sort of glue to re-install the emblem back on.

You can literally spray this while the emblem is on the car and it works perfectly.

You Plasti-dipped the taillights?! They look great in the pic above, but can you show a close up? One with the lights on? Can you see the lights through the Dip?

Look at the video & I have others on my youtube channel.

You can see thru the lights perfectly. Especially with the LEDs that the 370 has.
